Where wealth comes from

brazil map

Roughly 80% of Brazil’s GDP comes from 7 (out of 27) Brazilian states: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Bahia and Santa Catarina – plus the Distrito Federal (Federal District). The data was released today by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics).

When you think about all the other states and regions in Brazil, you can’t help but wonder: a) what a great potential this country still has; b) the government still has a long way to go - heavy investments in education and infrastructure are essential if Brazil wants to keep its leadership for the next 30, 50 years.
