There’s a lot going on in Brazil right now and, as it enters this new phase, it’s natural that people – from investors to travelers, from journalists to students – start asking, inquiring more about the largest economy in Latin America. And there’s so much to be said and learned…
However, as Journalists/Communicators, we’ve noticed something. Even in a globalized world, where news are transmitted from one side of the planet to the other in seconds, the information does not flow perfectly.
Quick example: a reporter for the New York Times that lives in Brazil once wrote a story on Caetano Veloso. He said that Caetano Veloso is so famous and loved in Brazil that Brazilians call him by his first name. This is a mistake. In Brazil, everybody is called by the first name: soccer players, soap-opera actors… even the President! Well, Lula is not even his name, it’s a nickname! In other words: if you don’t know much about our culture, you probably won’t understand much about us either, of course.
That’s why we are here. We’ve put together a highly specialized team of professionals: Journalists, Economists, Marketers, Human Resources professionals etc. Sometimes, we might post fresh news, direct from the Brazilian financial markets, for example. Others, we might write an article or even help you interpret something specific about our culture.
